Child Care
When selecting a child care service, here are some things you may wish to consider. Check the service's license, accreditation, and child-to-staff ratio. Determine the facility's policies regarding the handling of sick children, as well as drop-off and pick-up times. The cleanliness of the facility is also an important consideration. Check out the type of educational programs provided and whether the center has adequate physical space for the number of children. Security is an important concern; determine the location and number of observation cameras. Talk with parents of enrolled students about the quality of care. Evaluate the credentials and/or training of the
care givers. Talk to the care givers and administrators. Convenience of location, hours of operation, and transportation to and from the facility are basic to any decision. Determine the rates charged, the payment schedule, and the availability of financial assistance. You may wish to examine alternatives to commercial child care; local school authorities and religious organizations are becoming increasingly active in this field.
